Why is there a limit on digital library books? ›

Publishers often require that each digital copy is only loaned to one person at a time (just like physical library books). This ensures that authors, narrators, and other creators are paid fairly for their work, even if it's consumed digitally.

To access the NCDL page, go to: https:// ncdigital.overdrive.com/. To start, click Sign In (top right), select High Point Public Library from the list and enter your library card # (with no spaces).

The North Carolina Digital Library provides many ways to search for and identify ebooks. The search bar at the top of the page populates with potential authors and titles as you type. Select an option or run your keyword search. The "Subjects" tab allows you to browse ebooks by fiction and nonfiction subject areas.

Everyone is welcome to make on-site use of the Libraries; however, those who do not have a current, formal relationship with UNC-Chapel Hill must pay an annual fee for a Borrower's card in order to check books out.

A library card is free to Mecklenburg County residents, property owners and students. Non-residents can obtain a library card for an annual fee of $45 per household. The annual non-resident fee for senior citizens 62 and over is $35.
